How to Prepare for Your Appointment

Select your service type below to see the preparation checklist and what to expect on the day.

Thank you for engaging We Kill Termites for your upcoming pest treatment. The work to be carried out to the property is a pest control treatment which includes internal and external areas for cockroaches, silverfish, spiders and ants or any prescribed pests as per communication with our team. To ensure the greatest success and longevity of the treatment, there are just a few simple things that we ask you to do in preparation:

Before Your Treatment

  1. Please notify us prior to the day if you have any reptiles, fish or aquatic animals (including outdoor ponds) as we may need to treat away from these areas.
  2. Tell the office team or technician on the day about any problems you are experiencing or pests you may have seen.
  3. Ensure general housekeeping is completed prior to our arrival — dusting, vacuuming, and mopping; and allow 7 days after treatment before mopping close to the skirting boards (mopping the floor away from the treatment area / skirting boards is ok).
  4. Please refrain from using any household sprays such as Mortein as these can counteract our products.
  5. Please allow up to 6 weeks to see a complete eradication. If after 6 weeks you are still having an issue please call us. Please note that periodically throughout the year pests will still make entry into the home, however they just need a few days to pick up the product, and they will be eliminated.
  6. Please ensure all windows are closed and washing is off the line when the external spray is done.
  7. If possible, vacate the treated area during the internal component of the treatment and for up to 2 hours after (or until dry) — our technician can give you more specific detail regarding this on the day.
  8. Remove anything from the floors that would otherwise impede the treatment to the skirting board areas, this includes things like boxes, clothes, pet bowls and children's toys etc.
  9. Remove food items from bench tops and ensure all food is correctly stored in containers or in sealed plastic bags.
  10. If a member of the household is pregnant, under the age of 2 or suffers from respiratory complaints it is advisable that they vacate the premises during the treatment and until treated areas are dry.
  11. In case of rain, it is our company policy that the internal spray will still be completed and if it is light patchy rain the external spray will also be completed however if the rain is heavy the external spray will need to be rebooked for another day suitable to you.
  12. And finally payment is due on the day with the technician.

Additional Important Information — Roof Space Treatment

  • If you choose not to turn off the mains, our technician cannot legally enter the roof space and will not conduct any pest control service in the roof void.
  • If you do agree, please switch off the power before the technician enters the roof space.
  • No access can be made to the roof void if solar panels or home battery systems cannot be isolated.

Please Note: We Kill Termites is not liable for any damage, electrical faults, or disruptions caused by switching off your mains power. This is entirely at your discretion.

Thank you for engaging We Kill Termites for your upcoming inspection / treatment. The service to be carried out is a termite inspection to the inside and outside of the structure. To ensure the greatest success of the inspection, there are just a few simple things that we ask you to do in preparation:

Before Your Inspection

  1. Please notify us prior to the day or your technician on the day if you have had any termite related issues with the property in the past.
  2. Please ensure that where practical, all rooms are free of clutter and all doors are unlocked. This gives your inspector a much greater opportunity to visually inspect all areas of your property.
  3. Please make sure there is clear and safe access to your manhole for our technician to inspect your roof void.

What to Expect on the Day

  1. Your inspector will arrive within the pre-arranged 2hr time block.
  2. Your inspector will visually inspect and tap all the accessible timber areas throughout the property (this is an Australian Standard requirement) and all care is taken not to damage any timber surface.
  3. Your inspector will document the inspection through photographs. These photographs will be used in your report and securely stored for no other purpose than to satisfy Australian Standards.
  4. Where access permits, your inspector will inspect all internal areas of the home and up to 50m around the exterior of your home, including roof void, sub-floor, garage, shed and gardens.
  5. Your report will be emailed to you within 24hrs from day of the inspection, detailing any areas of concern, any areas considered conducive to termite attack and any areas where a re-inspection is warranted.
  6. If you do not have a termite management system in place or it is out of date, your inspector is required (by Australian Standards) to notify you of this and to issue you a quote to install a suitable system. This will be emailed to you separately within 48hrs of the inspection being completed.

Thank you for engaging We Kill Termites for your upcoming termite barrier installation. The work to be carried out is a chemical termite barrier treatment to the perimeter of your property, installed to AS 3660.2 standard using Termidor HE and/or Termidor SC. To ensure a smooth installation and the best possible result, there are a few simple things we ask you to do in preparation:

Before Your Installation

  1. Please clear items away from the external perimeter of your home at least 500mm (50cm) from the walls. This includes pot plants, garden ornaments, stored materials, firewood, timber sleepers, compost bins, and any items resting against the building.
  2. If you have garden beds against the house, please be aware that our technician will need to trench along the foundation. Plants directly against the wall may need to be temporarily relocated. We will take care, but some disturbance to garden beds is unavoidable.
  3. Please cut back any vegetation (shrubs, hedges, ground cover) that is growing against or over the external walls to allow clear access to the perimeter.
  4. If your property has paths, pavers or concrete against the building, our technician may need to drill small holes (6–12mm) at regular intervals along the slab edge to inject chemical beneath the surface. These holes are sealed and patched after treatment.
  5. Please ensure all gates are unlocked and that our technician has access to the full perimeter of the property, including side passages, rear yards, and any locked garden areas.
  6. If you have an irrigation system, drainage pipes, or underground services running along the perimeter, please let us know prior to the day so we can plan around them and avoid any damage.
  7. Please notify us of any termite activity you have seen or any previous termite history with the property. This helps our technician prioritise areas and ensure complete coverage.
  8. If you have pets, please keep them away from the treatment zone during installation and until the treated soil has been backfilled and settled. The chemical is virtually odourless and safe once dry, but we recommend keeping pets clear during the active work.
  9. Please be aware that the installation typically takes 1–2 days depending on the size and complexity of your property. Our technician will confirm the expected timeframe when they arrive.
  10. And finally, payment is due on completion of the barrier installation unless prior arrangements have been made with our office.

What to Expect on the Day

  1. Our technician will arrive within the pre-arranged time block and walk the perimeter with you to discuss the treatment plan before starting work.
  2. Trenches will be excavated along the foundation in soil areas (typically 150–200mm wide and 200–300mm deep). The chemical is applied by flooding the trench, and the treated soil is then backfilled.
  3. Where concrete, paths, or pavers adjoin the building, small drill holes will be made and chemical injected under pressure. All holes are sealed and patched after treatment.
  4. On completion, our technician will issue you a Certificate of Compliance to AS 3660.2 and a Treated Zone Plan showing the barrier layout. These documents are important for your records and any future property sale.
  5. Your barrier provides protection for up to 8 years. We recommend annual termite inspections to monitor the barrier and ensure ongoing protection.

If you have any questions before your appointment, please don't hesitate to call us on 1300 095 418.

Kind Regards,
The We Kill Termites Team.
